Inspecting a turbine blade up close usually means a technician on a rope, hundreds of feet up — this project detects surface damage directly from drone photos, making inspections faster, cheaper, and safer. What you'll work on : • Train/adapt an object detection model identifying cracks and erosion on turbine blade imagery • Classify detected damage by estimated severity • Build a report view summarizing damage findings per turbine for the maintenance team What we're looking for : • Comfortable with React/Next.js and Python (FastAPI/Flask). • Familiarity with Pretrained Object Detection (YOLOv8) is a plus. • Curiosity and a willingness to learn independently.
