A dusty or cracked solar panel can silently lose a significant share of its output for months before anyone notices — this project flags defects and soiling automatically from panel imagery, before the losses add up. What you'll work on : • Train/adapt a detection model identifying cracks, hotspots, and soiling on solar panel images • Estimate the likely output loss caused by each detected issue • Build a dashboard prioritizing panels for cleaning or repair by urgency What we're looking for : • Academic or hands-on experience with React/Next.js is a plus. • Familiarity with Pretrained Object Detection (YOLOv8) is a plus. • Initiative and a sharp eye for detail.
