Grain quality decides the price a farmer gets paid, but manual sample grading is slow and inconsistent between inspectors — this project grades quality automatically and consistently from a photo of a grain sample. What you'll work on : • Build a pipeline detecting and counting impurities and broken kernels in a grain sample photo • Compute an overall quality score comparable across samples • Build a simple interface for cooperatives to log and compare graded batches What we're looking for : • You know how to work with React/Next.js and Python (FastAPI/Flask). • Familiarity with Pretrained Object Detection is a plus. • Self-driven, with good communication with your mentor.
