A worn tire is a real safety risk, but manual tread-depth checks are easy to skip or misjudge — this project measures tread depth precisely from a single calibrated photo. What you'll work on : • Build an app capturing a tire photo alongside a coin or known reference object for scale • Implement a computer vision pipeline measuring tread depth from the calibrated image • Flag tires below the legal safety threshold automatically What we're looking for : • Comfortable with React/Next.js and Python (FastAPI/Flask). • Familiarity with Computer Vision / Image Segmentation is a plus. • Curiosity and a willingness to learn independently.
